Easy way to upgrade Windows 11 For Unsupported PCs

Easy way to upgrade Windows 11 For Unsupported PCs

On October 5, Microsoft released its latest operating system Windows 11.

It is fast supposed to look better and most importantly, it offers a lot of new features.

Which I unfortunately wanted to check that none of my machines were compatible based on the information that was returned by their compatibility checker but that's ok.

I've found a way to get around this. It's simple. It's fun and most importantly, I was able to install the machines all the way up to the seven year old Surface.

Original Surface Pro from Microsoft Let's do the first thing you need to update your system to the latest Windows 11.

Should you need a USB drive like this, I recommend something here that is 8 to 16 gigabytes as you will need to download the necessary files.

You will also need to go to the Windows 11 website and download their media creation tool from a website owned by Windows.

This will create a custom version of the operating system based on the Mac. Indicate that you're upgrading so that you can have the best possible compatibility when you make the move.

The second thing you will also need to do is that you will need to make sure that you actually sign into your Windows.

Without doing this you will not be able to register the key on the windows website so you can go from 10 to 11. Now note that you will not be able to upgrade to a higher version of the operating system.

If you are on windows 10 home then you are moving to windows 11 home so it means if you are on windows 7 or windows 8 it will not work. Am I going to download that tool?

I'm going to make the key, so I'm going to run the tool and I'm going to stick this USB drive in the laptop so it has a place to install those files.

This may take a while depending on your configuration or your machine specs, so you might want to lunch so that it's a good lunch.

And it looks like the USB drive is ready Now let me show you what happens when you try to run Windows 11 Update without some fixes.

Which I'm going to show you so we're going to hit the finish button to exit. This screen we are now going to hit File Explorer.

And we're going to look at the drive that we just made in this case it's called ed usb, I don't know why but it's there and will be in you.

Check out all the files for your Windows 11 installation and updates, so I'm going to hit the setup button and I'll show you what happens with a raw install.

So now it is asking me to install Windows 11. Well, I'm going to go ahead and do so there's an option to ask if you want to improve the installation.

I'm not going to check it because it's not checked by default, ok let's hit next so it's going to go on.

and will check for updates to the operating system as a preemptive measure to ensure that your installation is completely up to date.

Your system specifications we worked on recently, so it shouldn't take that long so it's already downloaded all the updates, it's going to restart the installation process to get to that point.

That's where you can actually start the install and we'll see what happens there so you can see that it's flawed on the exact same error that the compatibility device is that processor.

That is not compatible in general, you get a combination of CPU and TPM chip that is missing or not available. In this case it was assumed that the processor was not compatible.

Even though the tpm chip was installed and this is one of the requirements of windows 11 going forward, so since we can't proceed we are going to turn off the screen and I'm going to show you.

That's what you need to do for this installation to run it so you can see that windows 11 is not happy installing it on this particular machine as it is not well compatible with windows because of cpu limit.

ok what are we going to do are we going to open the same drive and i already got it on the screen i am going to the source folder which is right in the middle.

I'm going to open it and I'm going to look for a file called appraiser not appraiser and it's this file I'm going to copy it I'm going to make a copy of it And he is one.

Down here as you can see I'm going to rename this version as my backup copy, so I'm just going to remove the copy part and I'm going to put a dot back on the back.

So that I have an original copy of it in case anything goes wrong with the file I'm going back to the original copy which is somewhere above here and I'm going to make some changes to the original file itself.

going to do what you want to do is right click on the one you want to select open with and you want to choose notepad there is some code at the top which you don't want to touch.

What you are going to do is you are going to remove any line that has nothing to do with tpm, so the easiest way to do this is to just use the search tool tpm.

I'm going to start looking for those examples check this out and I'm just going to start taking those code lines and I'm just going to start deleting them like that you can even comment on them if you want ,

But it's just a neat way for me to get everything out there, now that being said it might take a while if you want shortcuts I've really figured out.

That's a youtube channel called Tips to Fix, they have a really great tutorial that walks you through the same process in a video but they also have a version of the file.

Which is available on their blog so that you can download it from there Now keep in mind anything that you download from internet make sure you scan it with any kind of virus scanner.

And I downloaded the file and I looked at it and nothing was over the board for me so it seems like a safe bet I even scanned the file and the YouTuber behind the channel and blog.

He seems like a very respected member in the community, so make sure you give him a thumbs up and like his channel too with a link here so you can meet him for more tips like this.

so i did it the hard way i gave you a chance to do it the easy way and now i got a version of the file it's ready to go in the folder that's all i have to do.

that just hit setup again and it should go through setup no problem this time and we are like this time it was checking pc compatibility requirements uhh it all went.

Last time through it stopped us and said that my CPU was not compatible this time it went through the license terms which means we are on our way i am going to accept the license terms and after that the next step Is.

You can choose how to install your updates, so here are a few options and it's running either you keep all your data, you keep all your windows apps.

But it will remove everything else, so if you have Adobe Suite installed, if you have any other editing software like Microsoft Office, it can remove most of that.

And you'll have to reinstall it, but it will keep your My Documents folder or anything you backed up on one of your drives, the other option is to really delete everything entirely.

So that you basically start with a new machine from day one, it's probably the best way to install an operating system as it doesn't carry any stuff with it, but that's only if.

While you might want to spend a little more time configuring everything individually, I think just uhh this is the first way to keep everyone where you are.

The settings keep most of your apps in the operating system  Settings

It's going to put it in it's own folder and it's going to do this it's going to give you a great experience overall, that's how I updated both my laptops because I'm in the .

Wanted to go right away and re-rolling for most people would just require a minimal amount of software installed. I recommend that for anyone who has an older system.

Which you know it's time for a quick uh wash that the second option will do right now that we've gone through the whole gauntlet of compatibility checks and updates and everything as you saw on the previous screen we're going to choose are ready for.

That's how we want this installation to be an in-place upgrade now, normally you'll basically keep your personal files and apps and everything will be hunky-dory now that you can run into situations.

Where things like adobe make a suite or um you know like davinci resolution or any other game or they can't get behind you might have to reinstall them but this first option right here to keep personal fi on screen Is.

Less and Apps will primarily retain your settings to your Windows operating system apps so that the Windows experience should be more or less the same when you log on.

In terms of settings you chose the second option to keep it personal. Files will only do that it will nuke all the applications from your application install screen.

It will start completely new which is really not a bad way to go, I think it will probably be the most economical in terms of time as you will need to work on your windows operating system or how to log into your windows account No need to remember password.

Now note at this stage that you should log in to your windows account on Microsoft before taking another step because if you don't register this key there when you press the next step.

When you start to install the operating system it will not know that you have a valid key it may ask you for it and may not be available to you by registering it electronically y when you use that account Sign in.

So you will know immediately that this machine is a windows 10 machine, it will take the key from it and it will upgrade you now no problem at last last option is nuclear option.

Nothing will be saved You basically start from scratch if you have nothing to lose on the machine I recommend this as it is the cleanest possible way to install your entire operating system.

And to get back as much performance as possible I am going with the third option, this is exactly the moment the truth we have gone through the installation options we are ready to sign in.

Just to recap we are installing windows 11 pro education This is the current version of windows 10 operating system which we are currently upgrading to 11.

The same version operating system is fine, so you are not going to get the upgrade from windows home 10 to windows 11 pro right away, doesn't work that way.

Well we chose not to keep anything so we're going to completely erase what's on the H if it's nuclear option if we give you a brand new new system.

Where it's factory like, ok I'm going to hit the install button and let's see what happens now keep in mind this might take a while so this might be a good one.

It's time to step in for another coffee lunch or maybe dinner, so with the lab experiment it's great for you to really enjoy the results of that experiment and we have a windows 11 laptop check it out now Lenovo Joe 200 was special that came with Windows 10 Pro Education.

Now it has been upgraded to windows 11, now we are on the start screen which many people know about when they get a new laptop it is asking me for the language.

And I'm about to pull up the USB drive indicating the end of our installation, so why not go ahead and hit the OK button for you and there we are going to walk you through the setup process asking me my name, date and everything .

That and to be completely honest I think it has been a huge success now the one caveat is that this particular laptop even though it is a well spec laptop with an AMD processor.

Storage was a bit slow on board, which means it took a lot longer when we installed it than on some of our high-end older systems so keep that in mind if you have an older system.

And you want to try that you should have plenty of storage on board so that you can get very fast installation, so if you are waiting a while.

and you have slow storage on it an old hard drive or something like that just keep it in mind so after a couple coffee lunch maybe after dinner we got windows 11 on the machine that microsoft rejected this machine Have given.

Now running windows 11. Check that it has center punch taskbar and tool tray and everything is like it has all latest features from windows 11 and it is running on this machine.

Whether it's faster we'll have to find out over the next few weeks but I think we're in a good position here, given my experience upgrading to the Surface Pro based.

I think it's going to be a great experience, so we're going to hand it over to John who's got this laptop and he's passing it on to you.

Check it out over the next few weeks to see what his experience is like if you like this video and like what we just did or have any questions.

So leave a comment below and I'll get back to you too Thanks for supporting our channel We are on our way to 50,000 subscribers and it's all because of you.

And I hope we can reach 100,000 with you as well take care everyone and uh hope this helps someone
